Simple Reminders for 2017!

Beloved

I believe the simplest things to remember are the things that will save our lives; however, so many of us find it harder to grasp that which is simplistic versus focusing intently on that which is complex.

My focus this year and moving forward, is to be the best representation of Christ in every situation I find myself.

With that being said, a simple reminder yet complex at the same time to either start doing or continue further in this year which enables me to do so are three scriptures

The Lord must increase while we learn to decrease. 7c38889549d0983935c384b99a11597f

– John 3:30 – John the Baptist new this well. In order for Christ to increase we must take a step back and decrease- we mustn’t lean to our own understanding. Thus if we trust in the Lord, if we believe He is who He says He is, if we know that we know that we know that we know then there is no room to also depend upon our fickle understanding of what God is doing, or why this or that did/didn’t happen. As frail human, we have such a desire to know all and understand all but even in that desire, we must acknowledge only God is the Alpha and the Omega. Never forget God’s desire for each of us is to become more like His Son, Christ. Therefore, it is important we grow in the Knowledge of who He is (Col 1:9) and going back to Joshua 1:8 (Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.)

1) Surrender – means to agree to stop fighting, resisting and to yield to the power and authority of another. Trusting God’s ways when we don’t see Him. Waiting on God patiently and believing. No longer looking to manipulate people or circumstances to fit your agenda but placing your situations in the trusted hands of the one who knows your beginning and end. Jesus our pioneer, our perfect example: Matthew 26:39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.

2) By fixing our eye on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our Faith! Hebrews 12:2– It means just that, walk by Faith not by Sight. Fix your eyes on the positive, things above, not your situation, not people, not even your emotions, not your job, not your spouse, but Jesus. Christ must be our focus, our motivation!

3) Recognize what has been your anchor! Hebrews 12:1 “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us.”  If you do not recognize what has/is causing you to sway back in forth in the Faith, trusting God and taking it back, being anchored and then uprooted, you will never fine solace in the fact that what God has started He will complete!

Beloved, it is of grave importance to start this year not just thanking God for this New Year, but by obedience and trusting on Him. Are you willing to sacrifice your soul for Heaven or for Hell? In all honesty, that is what it really comes down to.

Christ gives a peace that passes all understanding, joy, love, hope! Never forget that is the side you are on. The devil is our adversary, our opponent who plots and schemes on ways to destroy our faith, our hope, and take our eyes off focus. Satan plays for keeps! Always remember God sent His son to defeat our enemy, He has protected us in that sense, however, opposing Satan must be our choice.eb6930e21f919d83a8c0a242314902dc

Can Anything Good come out of This?

Beloved, John 1:46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathaniel asked.

Take a moment and reflect on your life! We have been blessed to see another December, another Christmas eve and because Jesus indeed is the reason for the season, we are Free! With the Lord, we have the power to be loose from bondage, slavery in our minds, to our past, to our current situation.

If I may be honest, the end of last year and this year brought about heavy twist and turns, the unexpected, the unimagined – and though I love the Lord and I trust Him, in the back of my mind was what good can come from this? If anything, can anything come out of this that is good?

I am talking about the omniscience of God, omnipresence, and omnipotence of Him- the one who came to make all things new, the one who said to entrust my life into His hands- with everything that has gone on, my question was can anything good come out of this?

Which brings me to the verse above, you may be wondering can anything good come from the situations you have experienced? Can anything good come from the hell you have encountered throughout this year? And the answer is YES!

Full text: Read further John 1:43-51

The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.” Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Don’t stop at the suspicion and disbelief but read further..

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

So many times we find ourselves in a rut because of the turns our lives have taken and we stop at disbelief. But like Peter, we must step out the boat of skepticism and step into belief and Faith that God is the one who  will complete the work He once started. We must come to grips that reality of what we go through isn’t all there is! You may think, Bianca but you don’t understand- and you may be right but I too am human and have gone through many unexpectancies during this year.

But through it all you must watch the company you keep. You said Philip told Nathaniel come and see. He didn’t go into an area with Nathaniels disbelief, but he tugged at his curiosity.  Watch whose around you when your asking yourself the question, “Can anything good come out of this, from this?’

Trust me, the Lord is not slow concerning His promise beloved, as some count slowness, but is PATIENT toward you, not wishing any to perish…(2 Pe 3:9). As followers of Christ we are to walk by faith and not sight! You see Faith is the substance (foundation, the conviction) of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Take a moment to step away from your problems in your mind to rely and trust the LORD when He says that the plans to prosper and NOT to harm us, but give us hope and a future. Recall, that the trials and tests are to conform us not hinder us!  Beloved speak life into your situation, say what God says, Yes something good is going to come out of this. Paul said it best, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” And we KNOW (convinced) ALL things work together for the good of those who love the Lord…So, will you stop at the question or believe God and come and see?

Breaking up with Bad Companions

Beloved,

Have you ever been in a bad relationship? But then you decided to go back? And even after breaking up with them, you possess particular characteristics from them that you had not carried? I know that to be true, and the only one who can deliver you is the Lord!

It is the same for particular companions such as: anger, worry, doubt, confusion, jealousy, gossip, envy, strife, comparison, control, low self-esteem, etc.

Be careful who your tag along is in this life. Have you ever noticed depending on the company you keep, you begin to pick up certain attributes of that particular company? I know I have. No wonder why the Lord tells us to be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh untarnished mental and spiritual attitude (Ref. Ephesians 4:23). I mean I have to admit, the love God has for us is immaculate and He IS a true father. When I think about all the direction He constantly gives us, the refreshing of the mind we ought to always strive to have, I recall Proverbs 3. In this Proverbs, possibly King Solomon talks about Guidance for the Young. He states,

“My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.” In this verse we are told the importance of well first knowing the law, the commandments which the Lord requires us to keep and that our wills and affections both must be govern and subject to them. When we know the commandments then we are familiar with them just as a friend. Its not enough to recite the Word of God, the Bible, but we must also know them and keep them in our hearts. In doing so, we are assured that it is the way to long life as well as prosperity.

So, who and what company have you been keeping? If I may be transparent, I have been dormant because of the company I have kept close, a little too close. My companions lately have been worry and doubt! And do these two suck the life, the faith, the trust out of you!

Worry.jpg

Proverbs 1- wisdom warns us and we are told, “My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.” In short, do not listen to the temptations, lies, and whispers of Satan.

Then we are informed and asked further down, Wisdom shouts in the street, She raises her voice in the markets; She calls out at the head of the noisy streets; At the entrance of the city gates she speaks her words:

“How long, O naïve ones [you who are easily misled], will you love being simple-minded and undiscerning…?”

Solomon gives the young people another rule to keep in mind in order to keep on the path of Wisdom – taking notice of the snare of bad company. Remember, Paul told us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Bad company corrupts good character.” The company you keep can often cause you to become more crippled and handicapped than before. So then Wisdom continues in verse 23,

“If you will turn and pay attention to my rebuke, Behold I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.” The question I have for each of you that I had to ask myself is, are we ready to honestly seek to Wisdom, to the Word of God and submit to it? Are you ready to rid of the company you have allowed to so easily attach to you? And please do not use, “This is just who I am” “This is apart of me” because it is not! That is a lie from the pit of Hell!

eb8a1f31dba60e8fbfd99bedfdfc6966

If we do not check our minds and companions we are around at the very innocent beginning we will adopt the lies and wayward ideas and behaviors as a normal part of our personalities. You see I began to run hand in hand with worry and along the way doubt began to rear its ugly head, and because I didn’t take captive of every thought, imagination, everything that sets itself up against the knowledge and truth of God, and make it obedient to Christ as Paul told me (ref. 2 Corinthians 10:5), they began to form its own identity and became a stronghold, a fortress, a companion I carried alongside with me in my day to day.

I thank God that He kept me even as I was dormant! Beloved I caution each of you to be careful of what you make your companion, who you allow to tag along with you, and how much of the past you give control in your present. If you are not careful, you will begin to create spiritual fortresses that only through prayer, fasting, these fortresses will be able to be demolished. Paul tells us continuing in Ephesians 4,

“…that you must no longer live as the [unbelieving] Gentiles live, in the futility of their minds [and in the foolishness and emptiness of their souls], for their [moral] understanding is darkened and their reasoning is clouded; [they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God [with no share in it; this] because of the [willful] ignorance and spiritual blindness that is [deep-seated[ within them, because of the hardness and insensitive of their heart. And they, [the ungodly in their spiritual apathy], having become callous and unfeeling, have given themselves over [as prey] to unbridled sensuality, eagerly craving the practice of every kind of impurity [that their desires may demand]… Therefore, rejecting all falsehood [whether lying, defrauding, telling half-truths, spreading rumors, any such as these…”

Take caution beloved when you begin to feel and see that you have become spiritually apathetic, lethargic in your living for Christ, and your reasoning is clouded. You might need to take the companions that have tagged along with you due to your circumstances, the character you have kept, or what you have watched and/or heard. Remember whatever your adjoined with, you are bound to pick up some of the ways, thinking and actions.

So, if and when you recognize the companion you have had is contrary to Christ you must occupy that space with the knowledge, truths of God for if you don’t,

“Now when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through waterless (dry, arid) places in search of rest, but it does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first…”

Beloved, now isn’t the time to live as if we do not need God –

Lord, forgive us for the way we have been living. Many of us have been living spiritually apathetic and lethargic, lazy and wasting our time with the wrong companions apart from you. Thank you for your grace and truth O Lord. We know life has its troubles because you told us, but help to magnify you, help us to return back to you! Search us O God and know our hearts; test and know our anxious thoughts. Consider our groaning and sighing Lord. Heed the sound of cry for help, our King, our God for to YOU we pray. For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil person dwells with You. O Lord, lead us in Your Righteousness because of our enemy; Make Your way straight, direct before us. Help us to Trust in you without seeing, for Blessed is the one who believes you and doesn’t see, for we will be like a tree planted by the streams of water. Touch our reasoning, give us clarity in the direction we ought to go for whom the Son has made free is truly free indeed. Show us the bondage we might be in. We bind the hands of the enemy on our minds, our lives, for whatever we bind on earth will be bound in Heaven. For You alone, O Lord, make us dwell in safety and confident trust. In You everything holds together. Thank you for your dwelling Holy Ghost. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Let God handle the intricate details of your Life!

Beloved, God doesn’t need our help with our lives. He doesn’t need our go, our nudge, our consent – because HE IS! Yet, when life seems out of our reach, out of what we think is our control, we tend to reach for the wheel as begin to swerve into different lanes. God knows what is up ahead! How do you think you have made it this far?

Why is it the same issues, concerns we had prior to coming to know the Truth of Christ still plague us even now we know Him? We are still worried about tomorrow, worried about our past, concerned with our present, easily agitated, frustrated, discouraged etc. We say we believe the Word yet we do not take heed to it. We do not follow the Word. The Lord already told us in the New Testament we would have troubles and in the Old Testament God also showed us. But for every issue the Word gives us a remedy. Yet, even sometimes the easiest remedy may seem like the most challenging to do. We are told in Psalm 55:22 “Cast all our anxiety [nervousness, uneasiness, worry, concern, apprehension] – (all these words alike mean the same thing) on him because he cares for us.” However, we find a reason to always pair up with worry again.

We here the phrase, ‘God won’t put more on you than you can bear’ but I have never found those exact words in the Bible- however, scripture says, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

We must trust this very Truth! God is truly faithful even when we aren’t!! His love is what has kept us yet we fail even to recognize that in the midst of going through! In the midst of the unknown.

The Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” We continue to magnify the problems and worries instead of letting God handle the intricate details of our lives.

During embryonic development, there are very complex details which you may not feel, or even see! But you trust the process! The man won’t know when the woman’s pregnant and typically the woman will not know. These details we leave and trust in the hands of God – but why is it that we must have a reach on the things we can see? Why is it you must see to believe? You must know to trust? You must have an answer to leave it the Hands of God?

That is not how this life works- we will not always know what’s around the corner, the Lord may not always give us a nudge, but He always has an answer to our worries and concerns. Will we trust Him to the intricate details of our lives?

We tend to get so caught up in the lies the enemy throws our way – our worries will come to past, us condemning ourselves, the Lord doesn’t want to have anything to do with us, we must do something in order to make the Lord love us more. These are all lies and contrary to the Truth. For we are told,

“Even if we feel guilty, [if our heart condemns us] God is greater than our feelings, than our hearts and he knows everything!”(1 John 3:20) If you would- allow that to sink in for just a minute.

You may ask why God You? But why not? What about Job, what about Joseph, what about Jonah, how about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, what about Jesus?

Beloved, God is able to keep you from falling but you must lean and depend on Him. God isn’t your assistant, so stop trying to do all you can and allowing God to do the rest. The Lord is waiting on your complete surrender. And please stop saying you trust God and yet you vent, you worry to other people. It doesn’t matter if they are Saints of God, but maybe the Lord is trying to get you to a place in Him where you only look to Him.

Have you ever thought about that? The complexity of life was and is not for you to try and unravel but it is for you to let God handle those intricately woven details!

Beloved God doesn’t make mistakes- that’s us! So move out of His way!wnd_f3905781148c3f4a33054df087de2161

I felt the need to write you…

“But I felt the need to write you about something else: I want to encourage [exhort; urge; appeal to] you to fight hard for [earnestly contend for; defend] the faith [the authentic gospel message] that was given [handed down to; entrusted to] the holy people of God [saints] once and for all time” Jude 3

Beloved,

We must be more watchful and mindful than ever. Too many of us are becoming distracted by the sidelines talk, shouting and opposing team.

The other day I went to watch my husband play basketball while assisting with the timer and scoreboard. This was my second time now and I caught on to the rhythm of the game and score keeping. It is very easy however, if you don’t know the game to listen to everyone on the sidelines. Players yelling, “Stop the clock,” “hey we had another point,” “We had a few more seconds on the clock,” etc. It’s easy to allow them to rule over the officials if you are not careful. Interestingly, I typically wait to hear from the officials but during one particular game, so much chaos was going on- officials were trying to clear up everything on the court between players and the opposing team, other basketball players waiting for their game, side line talk from both teams and someone yelling to stop the clock.

So at that moment, I stopped it!

In that moment it’s safe to say how easy it would have been to get upset and frustrated – One of the officials noticed the clock was stopped and yelled back, keep the clock rolling- don’t ever listen to anyone else but us.

Don’t pay attention to the sidelines only what I tell you!

The official/umpire is the one who enforces the rules and maintains order of the game and arbitrate on matters arising during the game. That is the ONLY one the scorekeeper and coaches should have their eye on.

Same with us beloved, our only official is the Lord, the umpire of our souls!

In this moment, I recognized that so many of us are falling by the wayside because we are listening to the sideline chatter (news, social media gossip, enemies’ one to another etc.) we are entertaining the very things God has delivered us from. Think about it, over 200 years ago, United States stood on the principles which were guided by the Bible. In these last few decades all of that has changed – daily we are turning contrary to the original path set- from the Word (Bible).

Many of us are doing the exact same thing in our Christian walk with the Lord. We are becoming easily distracted, entertainers of gossip, entertainers of worldly matters versus keeping our gaze up ahead. Beloved we are dealing with a real enemy, a real devil, someone who hates us and wants to steal, kill and destroy our very souls! He is the accuser of the followers of Christ, the author of deceit, father of lies, author of all powers and darkness, but the end of the story remains- Satan is Defeated! He and His angels will be damned to hell. If the Lord doesn’t deny Satan, why should we? Satan is subtle and the Word of God directly points us to this understanding. Don’t think not believing in Him makes him less real- because it doesn’t! Satan=Adversary (The opposer) (One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. –Job 1:6). Don’t allow the Him to blind you from the gospel, from the Truth!

contend-for-the-faith_t_nv

It isn’t okay to be in the world and of the world! We must choose which side of the fence we are on- and if you are still alive in your right mind, it’s not too late to choose now!

Look at what Jesus warned Peter:

“Simon [Peter], Simon, [look; behold,] Satan has asked [demanded; sought permission] to test all of you as a farmer sifts his [sift all of you as] wheat.” (Luke 22:31).

I give no glory to Satan, NONE! I only want us to understand we have a real enemy on our trail- we are not one another’s enemy, our past isn’t, God definitely isn’t but Satan- the deceiver, the thief, the liar, chaos Himself. We need to know the difference.

Beloved, “You were running a good race. Who stopped [hindered] you from following [or obeying; or your conviction about] the true way [truth],” (Galatians 5:7) Ask that question in your life now? What has caused a hindrance to the way you live? A stumbling block to you obeying the word of the Lord? From having daily communion with the Lord? From prayer?

We must be intentional about remembering the grace and mercy in our lives we are given every single day. Don’t allow your opponent to run you off!

A Few reminders:

“Be careful [conscientious] in your life [about yourself] and in your teaching. If you continue to live and teach rightly [persevere in these things], you will save both yourself and those who listen to you,” (1 Tim 4:16).

Galatians 5:24 “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.”

Matthew 6 “Don’t store treasures for yourselves here on earth where moths and rust will destroy them and thieves can break in and steal them. But store your [for yourselves] treasures in heaven where they cannot be destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will be where your treasure is.”

Truth of the matter beloved, we do not know how much time we have on earth but God isn’t pleased when it is no longer clear what the churches are preaching today, where our hearts are, or what we profess because our lives are reflecting something other than what we preach!

Matthew Henry states it best, “We are really, what we are inwardly.” We must choose once and for all who we will serve? We cannot half serve God by going to church Sundays, cursing someone out Monday-Thursday, Friday Club, Saturday at someone’s house we have no place being, and back at Church- We surely are deceiving ourselves and so is Satan. HOWEVER, we are not so deep in where Christ cannot pull us out!

7eee5b5d61b91364902cbeeec2505a86

Stop compromising for your flesh! Greater is Christ in us than he (Satan) in the World!

Isaiah 1 The Lord tells us:

“Wash yourselves and make yourselves clean. Stop doing the evil things I see you do [Take away your evil deeds from my eyes]. Stop doing wrong.”

We must not only feel sorrow for our sins but BREAK OFF THE PRACTICE! Let us be reminded, it wasn’t enough for outward sacrificial animals to wash us, but Christ Jesus who had no sin to die for our sins.

Couple of verses down,

The Lord says, “Come, let us talk about these things [reason together; or settle this matter; or consider your options]. Though your sins are like scarlet [stained with blood; they can be as white as snow. Though your sins are deep red [red as crimson/purple], they can be white like wool. If you become willing and obey [listen to] me, you will eat good crops from [the good of] the land. But if you ·refuse to obey [resist] and if you turn against me [rebel], you will be destroyed [devoured] by your enemies’ swords [the options are to eat the crops or be eaten by the swords].”
The Lord himself ·said these things [has spoken].”

God is a fair and Just God! Beloved, I appeal to you therefore by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world [any longer], but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God- what is good and acceptable and perfect!

Are You Prepared for the Climate Change in Your Life?

(This was intended to be sent yesterday, however, my computer shut off- funny how things work!)

(1 Corinthians 3:11For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Beloved,

Recently a friend of mine informed me her fiancé over in Guantanamo Bay Base in Cuba. She was a little concerned because there was what is called a category 4 that was announced to occur. (Not sure if it has) If I may digress for just a minute, a category 4 storm is winds that are going as fast as 130-156 mph. This category is disastrous!

According to Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale (which estimates probable property damage), ‘Catastrophic damage will occur: Well-built framed homes can sustain severe damage with loss of most of the roof structure and /or some exterior walls. Most trees will be snapped or uprooted and power poles downed. Fallen trees and power poles will isolate residential areas. Power outages will last weeks to possible months. Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks or months,’ mind you this is second to the last level, 5.

saffir-simpson_scale

If I may deviate once more, the other night my husband and I were discussing the different structural foundations for buildings. We were talking about how in different states/countries, the buildings structural systems seem to be based on the climate of the weather. A few house foundations I came across were built of bamboo and grass, other places brick, poured concrete, frost-protected (protection from extreme temperatures), permanent wood, and raised foundations – just to name a few.  These foundations are based on climate.

In the book of Matthew 7 verses 24-27 Jesus tells a parable of two men. One man built his house upon a rock where it weathered the storms and climate change, he was considered wise. The other man built his house on sands- when the flood came, the house collapsed and he was considered foolish.

As I mentioned above describing the type of foundations, this scripture goes in hand in hand. One, the builder and two the type of material. It seems as though in different areas houses are only built for the mean time. Architects are great builders but it also depends on the material they use.

One day we would like to build a house but we must be wise with how we build it. Though California is only considered to get earthquakes, who’s to say a thunderstorm with a flood of rain won’t hit and depending on where we are building our house could sink. Take Texas for example- we need to be smart about Hurricanes that pass through- so what type of material there. Or, for instance because the weather is changing, the way climate use to be isn’t the same everywhere – for example, I just spoke with a representative on the phone and she was informing me that in Utah, two tornadoes hit- though small, that isn’t normal. It’s normal to have snow there since their surrounding by Mountains, but not tornadoes. This wasn’t Utah’s typical weather.

During my study, there was one house left standing made of concrete during Hurricane Katrina in a Pass Christian, MS, neighborhood. Architects found that asphalt shingles tend to fail with catastrophic climate changes. The holes from stapling causes an uncertain foundation. Clay roofs made be a bit sturdy then asphalt, however, still apt to shatter. The list goes on and taking into account the windows, etc.

This is similar to the guarding of our hearts – don’t you think?

And the same with life! One minute all can be going well but the next minute you have no idea if the Lord and Satan had a conversation. Take a look at

Job, Chapter 1:

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil. Seven sons and three daughters were born to him. His possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and very many servants. This man was the greatest of all the people of the East … Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Adversary also came among them. And the Lord said to the Adversary, “From where have you come?” Then the Adversary answered the Lord, saying, “From roaming on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.

Pause for just a second 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober and watchful, because your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Genesis 4:7,But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it [overcome it] and be its master.

 Back to Job-

And the Lord said to the Adversary, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and an upright man, who fears God, and avoids evil?

Then the Adversary answered the Lord, saying, “… Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.” …While he was still speaking, another came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house, and suddenly a great wind came from the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!.”

Now if that isn’t a big pill to swallow, I don’t know what is! There, a few verses up, you’ll read Job lost his oxen, donkeys, camels etc. This was an extreme climate change in the life of Job – Oh and that was only the beginning!

Keep in mind there isn’t always warning to a climate change!

Throughout the book of Job, you will read Satan continues to ask the Lord to remove hedges and allow him to take Job’s body in order for Job to curse God. Job is then given boils all over his body, his wife tells him to curse God and die, his friends try directing him telling him that it is something hes done wrong to deserve this, etc. Job continues to pray and ask God – and only until chapter 38 does the Lord answer Job.

Let’s take a look at this, we have no idea how long that is in years. Remember one day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day (Ref. 2 Peter 3:8). Wow! And we complain if we have to wait a day, let alone a couple of hours.

image131

My point beloved, Job never cursed God. His foundation was sure, though the winds came, the thunderstorm, rain, hurricane and even tornadoes, Job remained standing flat footed and firm… Job 13:15Though He slay me, YET I will trust Him.” Throughout the bible there are many faithful followers of Christ who built their foundation upon a rock- THE ROCK!

We build our foundations on money, image, people/relationships, careers, our past, even our future but none of this is sure! Many of us are foolish when it comes to our building and waste time building in the first place. Architects have to take into account of the climate changes prior to building. But we think about the here and now! However, this life is temporary. Architects assess the right layout in order to build a person’s house on a sure foundation, anchored. Have you?

Don’t miss the point, it’s not about YOU building the house but Matthew 7:24Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Each and every single one of us are actually building every day- the question is, how and what are you building on? The bedrock for life, for our relationships, for our careers is on the Word of the Living God of Jesus Christ. James reminds us “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

The pressures of life are continually increasing, but we must be careful not to buckle under pressure. I often wonder how it would be living back in the ages where there wasn’t much television shows, internet, social media etc., we wouldn’t be as easily deceived and detoured from the bedrock for our life- a sure foundation! Now isn’t the time to buckle under a category 1 or 2 especially not a category 4 Hurricane. Need I remind you that one whose foundation is set and anchored in Christ, who trust in the Lord is like a tree planted by the waters, spreading its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes, nor anxious in the year of drought, nor cease from yielding fruit  (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

foundations

If I might recap, a sure foundation is built on being a hearer and doer of the Word for obedience is better than sacrifice, prayer, Faith, studying scriptures, daily repentance and the Holy Ghost. A life apart from having the Holy Ghost doesn’t allow Christ to express Himself in your life. When the Holy Ghost controls our lives, Paul tells us He will produce the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control… (Lets save that for another time). What I am getting at is the foundation must be built based on what we do not see, moving away from walking by sight and living by Faith!

So, how have you been building your foundation? What is the structural frame like? Remember, Satan roams the earth seeking whom he may devour and you don’t know if the question asked was, “Have you considered my servant…?”

“…with my whole heart I will agree…And my answer will be Yes Lord…”

Scripture tells us in Psalm 5:3 “O Lord, in the morning You will hear my voice; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will watch expectantly.”

I thank God that the Lord hears us! I thank God that He doesn’t turn deaf ear to us and that the psalmists, many followers of Christ wrote down everything that the Holy Spirit impressed on their hearts.

It is so wonderful to know that “I do not have to worry about tomorrow…” That even though weapons will be formed, “they will not prosper” and “I can cast my cares on the Lord because He cares for me…” and the list goes on and on.

In this day and time where we may not be able to see through the fogginess of the clouds, I am thankful for the scripture “We walk by Faith and not by Sight” and “The Just shall live by faith!” The lord is an ever present reminder that our trust and dependence ought to be in and on Him.

During prayer last night we began to declare, ‘Lord we say yes to you all day, YES Lord, YES to Your will, YES to YOUR way, we say YES we say YES…’ and during that time, the YES really began to impress on my heart, in my Spirit and it was at that point that I realized we CAN say Yes to the Lord all day every day. There is nothing to fear when the Lord has the whole world in His hands.

Don’t get me wrong, as easy as these words are to flow off my keyboard- I have been tested myself! If I truly mean Yes in my Spirit to the Lord. This has become a reality many times. Often times what I say/write, I have already been tested on it or a test is awaiting me at the end of the last word. My world has been shaken multiple times, back to back, and yet I had to humble myself and say Yes Lord. I WILL trust You!

Though the enemy slays us will we trust in the Lord? Yes everything seems to be nothing but evil we hear on the news but let us not fret because though our adversary is the god of this world and Satan schemes – God is yet planning!

Those who said YES:

Abraham said YES when the Lord told Him to go without knowing where.

He said YES when God told him to sacrifice His son.

Moses said YES when God told him to go to Pharaoh to ask him to let the Israelites go free.

Joseph said YES when God told him to forgive his brothers.

Esther said YES when Mordecai told her to go to the king in order to save her people.

Mary said YES when an angel came to her and told her she would be carrying God’s Son

Joseph said YES the angel told him not to leave Mary.

be-it-unto-me-2

This is what the Lord showed me:

Say yes to Me all day every day- don’t take thought of anything, how something will or wont work out, what your day to day might bring, what or who is bad mouthing or speaking bad about you- even when you don’t understand, when it doesn’t look right, when you cant see my Hand Just Say Yes to ME!

This is exactly how it was downloading into my Spirit last night (with additional scripture references):

God can do all things BUT fail

He is not a man that He should lie nor the Son of man that He should repent (Numbers 23:19)

He exalts His Word above His name (Psalm 138:2)

His Word goes forth, it will not return void but will accomplish and prosper in the thing for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11)

Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10)

No good thing will the Lord withhold from those who walk upright (don’t take it out of content- we must yet desire to be in the Will of God) (Psalm 84:11)

All things work together for our good, for those who love God (those who love God keep His commandments, obey His teaching (Romans 8:28)

The commandments of God are not burdensome (1John 5:3)

Lastly, We ought to be confident in the very fact that God who began a good work in us will perfect until the coming of Christ’s return. (Phil 1:6)

Did you catch any of that?

We can say Yes to the Lord ALL DAY EVERY DAY because God Has us! We have no need to Worry! Now, I have not arrived because there may be times I fall prey to frustration, annoyance, lose my patience at times, worry. But underneath it all – I come back to the understanding that God cannot lie, He exalts His Word above His name, so all that I read has to be true not only for those in the days of Noah, Moses, Abraham, David, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Rachel, Isaac and Jacob but it must stand true today in whatever situation I find myself in and if that is the case then I know that Word will cannot return void to the Lord. I must then believe if I am seeking the Lord, I will lack no good thing, but I seen this somewhere else. Remember Psalms 23 “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”

Real quick lesson: sheep are not wild and the owner of the sheep’s set a great price on them- there is a flocking and following instinct of sheep, the sheep hear the Shepherds voice, Knows him, follows him and as the Word says, will not follow a stranger. The Shepherd finds them, gives life to them, feeds them and leads them.

Thus if I am the sheep the Lord is my Shepherd, I trust His judgment over my own and the worldly views, therefore I am never lacking! In saying Yes to the Lord I recognize on top of all of this, if there is something I don’t understand, if something has occurred to trip me up on my emotions, I remember ALL things work for my Good as long as love the Lord because if I love Him, then I will obey His word! So during times of wanting to scratch my head I now must recall who am I the created to question the creator? How does the clay speak to the potter during the refining process? Because, though it looks bad, though it looks like no way out, the vision is yet for an appointed time and even though it tarries, I must wait on it because it will surely come. And the work in my life will certainly be perfected before Christ return because God’s word goes out and does not return void for it SHALL accomplish what it was purposed for.

So remember belovedi-surrender-all as you go throughout your day- say Yes to the Lord. Ask the Lord to give you a Yes in your Spirit! Disclosure: as soon as you make-up in your mind to keep a Yes down in your Soul to whatever the Lord wants to do in your life, you just might be tested.  (1 Peter 5:8) “Stay alert! Watch out for YOUR great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. ” Fight back with the Word- let the Word do the Work for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edge sword- so don’t let him steal your joy, your peace or kill your hope, or destroy your Faith in Christ. Saying Yes is your surrendering unto the Lord and though realistically it may be a little more challenging as situation arises we yet must work out our salvation, we must run this race set before us, our own race and BY Faith trust the will of God for our lives that by Saying Yes in the words of Job, “For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being!”

The Best CV I have ever came across!

Psalm 107: 43 Whoever is wise let him observe these things; let them consider the lovingkindness of the Lord.”

A CV stands for Curriculum Vitae, which shows ones work experience, education background and skills. I know that many physicians have them along with many other career professionals. The CV is what a supervisor has to go off of before meeting and during an interview. The CV list everything in comparison to a Resume rather listing only what is needed for the job applying to.

I believe we often confuse this with the Lord. We typically with place the Lord in the box depending on the situation because the Resume to our eyes doesn’t fill the circumstance. Instead we have forgotten the CV of the Lord including what He has already done in our lives to this present day.

We are so quick to hit the panic button. So quick to turn to our loved ones, rely on our emotions, people, media and google so much so that we place ourselves in even more confusion than we ought to be in. We are so quick to worship celebrities, want to be like them, look like them, have what they have (by the way that’s covetousness), so much so we do not even know how to be who God created each of us to be. When things begin to seem out of our reach we begin to panic thus doubting God can, but don’t forget that there is a companion to everything the devil throws your way. There with panic doubt comes fear!

Instead of keeping the Lord’s CV readily available we begin to compile our own resume for the Lord and if we aren’t careful, if we do not have a strong relationship with the Lord reading His Word, fasting and praying it is very easy to miss some things. Look at the CV I found on Christ:

jesus-christ-cv-660x1024

Wow! I mean truth be told, Christ CV is way more than a page, however, for time purposes this is just a snippet of His CV.

Maybe you should look into compiling your own CV of the Lord and the work He has already done in your life, also including the work He has done since the beginning of mankind. I believe when we read about the children of Israel it is for us to understand that we should never forget all Christ has done.

It is all so very easy to forget when we hit the Panic-Button-300x290.jpgbutton.

David said it best in Psalm 103:2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits…”

This ought to nudge you just a bit in your Spirit. The Children of Israel repeatedly forget the miracles that Christ done; if they weren’t complaining to Moses, they were being disobedient and shaking their fist at the Lord. But every single time, the Lord bailed them out. His love for us is truly like no other and His Word is more than enough for any and every situation you find yourself in.

First start in Genesis–> God creates Adam and Even

Sarah–> God opened Sarah’s womb in her old age

Joseph–>went from the prison to the palace

Rebekah–>healing of womb to conceive Esau and Jacob

Rachel–>was barren for many years and God opened her womb blessing her with Joseph and Benjamin

Lot’s wife–>turned into a pillar of salt because she disobeyed God

Exodus:

Moses–>sees a burning bush that isn’t even consumed

  • His rod becomes a snak

Israel–> Lead with cloud of pillar by day and pillar of fire by night

Moses and children of Israel–>Pharaos army behind them and red sea in front of them- God departed the red sea and pharaohs army was destroye

Children of Israel–>They had no need to save their food, to shop, or worry (yet they were disobedient) and yet God provided Manna on high every time

If I may, let me jump to Daniel:

Shadrach, Meshach and Abendengo–>tossed in the fire and the heat was turned to where even the guards were burnt up, yet God was in the fire with them and kept them alive in the furnace without even smelling like fire.

The list goes on and on and on in the Old Testament and then we come to the New Testament and Jesus Christ:

First miracle–>Christ turned water into wine

A man born blind–> is made whole (many accounts of blind being healed)

Lazarus–>is resurrected after being dead for 3 whole days

Peter–>walks on water

Jairus daughter–>was on the brink of death and the Lord was rushed by many people needing healing, woman with the issue of blood yet Christ said she is not dead but only asleep. He  said Talitha cumi, meaning “Little girl, I say to you, arise” Immediately the girl arose and walked.

Woman freed of a demon who caused her to be crippled for 18 years

Jesus is resurrected!

There are so many accounts to God and the Life of Christ! Do not allow the devil to make you believe it was only so many years ago. If I recall God’s word is alive and active and He holds it above His name, therefore, He cannot lie- I don’t know about you but my bible states, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forevermore.” (Hebrews 13:8)

Note: My recommendation of building the resume of the Lord is to study the Word of God! Take time out to learn about God and His Son Jesus. There are many resources such as bible apps and bibles that have commentaries to assist you. Begin to journal and if you do not like to write, this might be a good reason to begin to love it! Then ask the Lord to help you recount every area in your life, you know it was noone but Him that brought you to it or through it. Don’t shy away because you may not understand the Bible- 1 John 2:27 “But the anointing which you have received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. For as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, remain in Him.” Pray before you read and talk to the Lord and let Him know, ‘Lord you said in Your word that the Holy Ghost will teach me. Teach me your ways and guide me in Your word. Open my heart to Your Word and Your Word to my heart, I believe for without Faith it is impossible to please you In Jesus Name Amen.’ Remember this relationship takes time just like any other relationship! But the Lord is patient for He is Love!

Trust and Believe God! Deuteronomy tells us “So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.” (Reference: Proverbs 7)

I ask you the next time you find life throwing everything at you and the enemy whispering in your hear (because remember Satan likes to come with pressure on every side) ask yourself, whose report will you believe?  Remember and meditate on these scriptures:

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; and always carrying around in the body the death of the Lord Jesus, that also the life of Jesus might be expressed in our bodies.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-12)

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”(Galatians 2:20)

If My People Who Are Called by My Name…

We have so much to say on the media and yet we aren’t running to the one who holds the world in His hands!

When your boss tells you to do something, for the most part you do it right? What about when your friends tell you their opinion- you listen right? How about when someone criticizes you, internally you just might believe it?

We can and will spend countless hours on social media expressing our concerns for all that we see and is being reported and not once do we take the time to pray!

Something is wrong!

Why is it that when we are commanded, pray without ceasing, we question it? We attempt to find flaws in the word of God when we are the flawed ourselves! We find no benefit because we are looking for immediate gratification?

Something is really wrong with that picture!

Without prayer –how do we acknowledge He who is in control of every aspect of our lives without turning to the world and getting anxious?

1 Thessalonians 5:17…pray without ceasing…

Beloved now more than ever is time to pray! This day I think about the history I heard and researched regarding slavery to civil rights! Slavery then and slavery now! I then think about those who fought for our rights! And then I think about how Christ before every one of us came to be freed us from the bondage of enslavement. Yet, so many of us still have a slave mentality. We forget the Lord is the one who fights our battles.

8e8c9-john2b8_362bwhom2bthe2bson2bsets2bfree.jpg

And with so much occurring in the world today that is unexplainable and hard to think about even to look at we need to turn even the more toward Him. When you think of the many African American men and women killing their children, committing suicide, and getting killed by officers, and people all over just going through whether it be earthquakes, storms, etc, it is very easy to forget that the Lord is still and remains with us! Beloved we have forgotten the freedom we have in Christ Jesus! We continuously allow the social media, our emotions live out our lives of us, but when you have the Holy Ghost you can only be led by one or the other.

2 TIMOTHY 3:

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…

Isn’t this what we are seeing this very day? Why are we surprised? Why do we fret? Instead of fretting prayer needs to take the place. Instead of complaining, edifying and building up needs to take place.

It is very easy to think that, ‘what is the point of praying, nothing is happening,’ however, we mustn’t forget what Christ in the book of Matthew 5 tells us:

YOU are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how shall it be made salty? It is from then on good for nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfoot by men. YOU are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

We are here to season the land with the Love of God, knowledge and grace. We can only be apt to profess Christ when we aim to study the word of God and seek His face and live it out! We can be true to exercising, faithful to our show times, committed to our body and yet we find many excuses to our true calling. We mustn’t lose our flavor of saltiness –

People dont need our judgment or criticism. Truth be told, we have to much stuff going on inside of us to be worrying about someone, judging others and wanting what they may have.

Now isn’t the time to shrink back, but to lay before the Lord and Pray- recall 2 Chronicles 7:14

if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We are not privileged to wear tight fitted!

Galatians 4:7 “So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has also made you heir.”

Good morning Beloved,

What comes to mind when you think of the word – privileged?

Privileged is enjoying the special right/advantage most people don’t have. Another way to look at it is, exempt – thus not subject to usual rules or penalties.

I remember as a child I would see other children who either grew up in worse neighborhoods than I or fairly wealthier neighborhoods and I would wonder why I couldn’t have what other kids had. On the other hand, I would think about those kids who grew up in rough neighborhoods. Everyone is branded in a way, right?

Think about it the different social classes: low, middle and upper class but there is also a working class. These different categories typically reflect the group of people with similar levels of wealth and status.

Now think about a time when your mother/father/guardian, or you have told your own kids that you did not raise them to be or act a particular way when they act out! Can you remember a time? I know I can.

Where am I going with this you ask? Well Beloved I think many of us forget that we are heirs and children of THE King! We allow our feelings and the circumstances of life dictate to us who we are and whose we are in that very moment and instead of speaking back to that mountain, that feeling, that lie we become molded by it!

When you are categorized as “low class” for example, people look at you funny trying to walk into “upper class” and vice versa. Same with us spiritually! As a chosen people, a royal priesthood and God’s special possession we do not have the privilege to curse someone out, to catch attitudes when we don’t get our way, to cut people off because of our selfishness like we once did when we were under the law. By the words we use, the things we do, people wouldn’t want to be a Christian and think it is worth living for Christ if we are always cursing someone out, have to be right, have the last word and puffed up with pride.

It is the same with low class, middle and upper. Typically in the natural when we see upper class doing well and we see all that they have, we think, ‘I need to do what they are doing,’ or ‘I need to talk to him/her and find out how they did.’ This is the same for us!

We are the Lord’s ambassadors- but does the way you act, talk and deal with people tell a different story? Perhaps we are wearing the world a little too tight if we are blending in and there is no difference in our character and actions.

Think about it women – sometimes we wear very tight fitted clothing because we want to show off our assets, we have become caught up in the ego of this world! We dress to impress! Tight clothing causes us to be restricted and sometimes uncomfortable. We are so invested in self!

This is how we have become in the world. We feel entitled, focused on self, feel the need to be in control and we forget that we are no longer privileged to do the things of the world. We hold onto everything with a tight and firm grip! But Job said it best, “The Lord giveth and the Lord takes away.” This is life is a gift, so who are we to hold to it so firmly.

32fe0c7c2734340145f7810ce2ed9656Beloved each of us were brought with a price, a high price at that, to be free in Christ. To be free from bondage and yet instead of fighting our emotions and the lies of the enemy with the WORD of God we fall prey to the familiarity of bondage.

Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:17 “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is” you see this thing, sanctification is a process of dying more and more daily to sin and living to righteousness. Constant opposition you will be tried by the enemy of this world.

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

We do not have the privilege to pattern our lives after what we see, listen to, or hang with. God is looking for the faithful in heart. 2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

At your job can you wear a Halloween costume every day, or walk in there without shoes, clothes on? Hmmm- No! When your boss yells at you do you yell back? Well, I hope not! Why? The incentive- you get paid! You are able to keep a roof over your heard and family, clothes on your back and food on the table.

Why is it, in the presence of the Lord (being his eyes run to and fro throughout) do we feel we are exempt to do whatever we want because we know Christ? That is far from the truth!

Ephesians 4:24 “…and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
